Eagle Ridge Neighborhood – Burglary

A burglary took place on Tuesday, September 27th at approximately 1 PM on Wild Dune Ct.  Entry was made through an open upstairs window.

A neighbor who happened to be arriving home at that time observed a silver color BMW with large fancy wheels parked in front of the residence with the engine running and saw a young, light-complexion African American approach
the front door while talking on his cell phone.  Even though the neighbor thought this didn’t look right, he parked his car and went into his home as usual.   Shortly thereafter, the victim’s burglar alarm sounded.  Several neighbors stepped
out to investigate and called the police.  Unfortunately, the BMW was gone.  The driver of the BMW was apparently the lookout.

This underscores the importance of being a good witness. A cell phone photo could be crucial in solving this crime. Even if that weren’t available,  just the license number and a description of the BMW could be invaluable.

In this case, given the alarm, phoning in this information to the police would of course be important. Even if you don’t have reason to report the vehicle immediately, keep the photo or information for a few weeks, to see if either you can confirm that the car and its passengers have a legitimate reason to be in your neighborhood, or don’t.
