Vallejo Annex – Phony Wireless Alarm Salesman

On July 4th a young Caucasian male who appeared to be about 14, wearing a white polo shirt and khaki pants, came to my neighbor’s door on Phelan saying he was selling a wireless alarm system. (There have been older, legitimate wireless alarm salesmen working in Vallejo.)

The youth told the neighbor that the phone wires could be cut and then the house could be burglarized. The neighbors said they weren’t interested.

The youth had a partner also working the neighborhood, and he was described as “cocky” by another neighbor who spoke with him — this youth was going door to door on Campbell. He asked her to point to some pictures and show him what kind of alarm system she had. She told him it was none of his business and then told him she had 24-hour  surveillance at her house.

Fortunately none of the neighbors allowed these boys in or answered any questions about their alarm systems. The boys wore no Id’s and had no logos on their clothing.

(Conferring afterward, the neighbors agreed that July 4th was an odd day to try to sell alarm systems.)
